Choosing Purecontrol to optimize the management of its wastewater treatment plants

Rennes Métropole must guarantee the quality of water treatment on its territory. This challenge is all the more important as wastewater treatment plants face increasingly stringent functional, structural and environmental requirements.

Boris Guéguen, sanitation director at Rennes Métropole, explains to us how Purecontrol helped them optimize the management of its water networks in this video.

With its 25 wastewater treatment plants, Rennes Métropole must provide an efficient sanitation service for nearly 180,000 collective sanitation subscribers, and more than 9,000 individuals.

The sanitation authority is responsible for the quality of its water discharges into the natural environment by respecting environmental standards. Treatment plants must also be more and more efficient in terms of regulating and optimizing water management, in particular with reduction in their energy consumption.

Rennes Métropole has therefore chosen Purecontrol to help them optimize the efficiency of their equipment through the analysis of energy consumption and intelligent process regulation:

“Purecontrol allowed us to reduce our overall energy consumption of the treatment plant by 10 to 15%” — Boris Guéguen, Sanitation Director of Rennes Métropole.

The solution also allowed them to manage their network in an optimal and predictive way, in order to anticipate anomalies on equipment and adjust sanitation processes taking into account internal and external factors such as rainfall, water flow, energy rates...
